Who is Imran Ali Dina the Founder of GFX Mentor
Introduction:
Imran Ali Dina is a shining star in the world of inspiration and
creativity. He has set an example for today’s youngsters that hard work
knows no fatigue over the years. He was so steadfast and dedicated to his
dreams that he emerged as a renowned artist not only in front of Pakistan
but at global level. It was his unwavering belief in himself and his extreme
interest in maintaining the passion to work that he achieved a huge amount
of success in a very short period. And the individual who was once trapped
in the world of traditions, now has reached the heights of the sky due to his
never-ending efforts.
Young Days:
Imran Ali Dina belonged to Karachi, and he was from a mediocre and
unpretentious family. Since childhood, he consistently displayed his flair for
creativity on every occasion. From a young age he used to prove himself in
drawing, painting and different opportunities to display his art and potential.
He learned computer in 1992 which was 486 having 2GB Ram and there
was no hard drive.
He always used to run it with the help of floppy drive. He
completed his graduation in 1994. In 1997 he stepped into the world of
business. And that business had nothing to do with computers. He had a
bicycle repair shop and he used to fix punctures. But as the business did
not yield much profit and he started as a data entry job. And his salary was
PKR 2500 there.
His passion for Art:
Imran Sir mentioned that he used to do programming from his initial school
days. But he was not very interested in it. Whenever he sat to do
programming with his friends, he would always think about its user
interface. He himself was unaware of the fact that he was meant for graphic
designing, and he wanted to pursue graphic designing. He didn’t go
anywhere for training. He learned the photoshop from scrapbooks and
learned to run photoshop himself. There was no YouTube in his era and
even he assimilated to run computers using command prompt on the Rain
screen.
Embracing opportunities:
Imran Sir made his name in the world of Graphic Designing and began his
teaching career in 2000. He started lectureship in Iqra university, and he
began to deliver lectures about Graphic Designing there. But he was a
world of knowledge himself. And he always used to say that:
“Whatever treasure of knowledge you possess, share it with others,
don’t keep it limited to yourself.”
And according to him he had an ocean of knowledge and he wanted to
distribute it bit by bit to everyone. University or institution were not only
sufficient to deliver his knowledge. And he was not satisfied to distribute
knowledge about only the courses specified by university or institution. So,
to address this issue he started giving online lectures. He initiated from
blogger platform, but he didn’t find this platform very interesting.
So, he launched his YouTube channel named GFX Mentor.
One of the reasons behind this step was that university students could
understand the topic by repeatedly attending the lectures. So, students
could easily watch and learn.
His Emerging spark:
Sir Imran is also a motivational speaker. And different universities and
institutes invite them on their huge occasions. He also often used to say
“Take small steps and progress gradually, don’t take a big leap all at
once”
His work and never-ending efforts has inspired not only Pakistani students
but students from all over the world.
He bridged the generation gap by his tireless efforts. He opened the doors
for graphic designing and art not for just determined but for all.
He was the first who made it possible that anyone to learn these skills by utilizing the
small amount of internet. He did it very precisely so that students won’t
need to get ready and go out to learn something. Here you just need a
phone or pc, and your dedication is required. Once he said by addressing
the Audience that:
“I feel happiness from the depth of my heart when a student messages me, I got a job because of you.”
And its a fact that his students also consider him a deity because GFX
Mentor brought a revolution in their lives.
Progression Unfolds:
He spent his early life chasing his craft’s dream and dedicated himself to
the fulfillment of them. He was the sort of person who carved his own path
like water. He has planted a tree that will provide shade to others more
than himself and will continue to bear fruit forever. He is further exploring,
and I hope he will explore new horizons in a short period.
He made it possible to quench the thirst of desert with drops of hard work
and beauty and thus became a living example for current and upcoming
generations.
I can claim if such teachers are present around us then it is impossible to
lose in any race of life. May God keep him safe and may his shadow
always remain over us.
